Wonderful weather weekend

This was a busy weekend for us. We watched some softball, went to Tim and Whitney's wedding, pulled half of the weeds in our backyard, went to Madden's second birthday party and played every moment in between. David and I tackled putting up a growth chart that doesn't make any sense at all. Here are some pictures from the weekend, hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

Mommy Cards

Today I spent a good part of my day designing myself some Mommy Cards. I have seen them in magazines before and thought that it seemed a little silly, trading cards with other moms like a business transaction. I have however, on more than one occasion, found myself wishing that I had one of these cards after meeting a nice woman and her child. It's happened at the train set in the mall bookstore, a neighborhood park, and some other random places. I have walked away regretful that I didn't get a name or a number to see if us and our kids were a good fit to be friends. Finding a perfect parent friend is not easy you know, and being a young mom of a toddler can seem lonely at times. Most of my friends are without children or with children of the completely wrong age. Sometimes you just need a mom who understands exactly what you are going through. So I am going to use my mommy cards and I am going to use then proudly and who cares if people think I am weird, maybe I will make a new friend. :)

Here are some pictures of Luke riding his new motorcycle and helping his Daddy pull weeds yesterday. What a big boy :)

Introduction

I have thought about writing a blog many times. I love writing, reading, designing on the computer, and scrapbooking. Put it all together and it seems like a winning combination. The only thing that is holding me back is wondering if I actually have anything to SAY.

I intend to use this blog mostly to talk about my life, my family, motherhood, and of course LUKE. The name of this blog came about as I pondered what would possibly sum up my little family. I thought about Luke and his obsession with "go-gos". Or how I love to travel and David is an amazing father. Nothing really seemed to encompass us all. Finally, I decided on Sweet Tea Please because if there is anything this family loves its an ice cold glass of sweet tea. Give Luke some tea and you can buy yourself a good 3 minutes of him sitting still.

Let me tell you a little about us. I am 25, an art teacher at a high school in Katy. David is 33 (I know old right?) an athletic trainer at a high school about an hour away. Luke is 18 months and with him there is never a dull moment. We didn't really know if we wanted kids when we got married but I am so glad that life had its own plan for us. We cant even imagine our life before or without him.

Well now that The Biggest Loser is over I must do laundry and go to bed just to do it all over again in the morning. The bright light of summer looming so closely ahead is what makes it easy to get through work right now. The kids at school are getting restless and so am I.
